So because I haven't had the writing bug hit me in a long time, I decided to start going through all my old stories and edit them, like word choice, grammar, punctuation. Now I know why I've been avoiding it, it's a pain in the ass, it takes forever, and editing livejournal posts is annoying. The actual editing is easy though, it wouldn't have been a few months ago though. Ever since my grammar class I can easily see what to fix, and though we didn't spend much time on punctuation, just having everything else gives you like a sixth sense, where as before my grammar class it was more like, uuuuur I think that comma goes there. Basically, untaught, you end up putting a comma after every clause, which just doesn't work. So, I can do it, which is why I'm doing it, but it doesn't mean that it isn't a lot of work and can be quite annoying. Mostly it's annoying because it took me two hours to get through three stories and I've written like fifty suckers, and that's just talking fanfiction. I have my original work too. But it's time to practice right? Someday when I've written a novel, I'll have hundreds and hundreds of pages to go through and edit.
