Every time I look at Rodney I feel a flush move through my whole body, making every nerve tingle. I’m heating up at just the thought of him nearby talking at a rapid pace. I wonder what it would be like to get close to that warmth and be able to stare into the blaze I see in his eyes. Yet I fear that the flames will consume me and I’ll lose who I am and just be a charred husk, because whenever my arm brushes his in passing, his skin scorches mine. But I want him so much it burns anyways and I’m tired of being afraid, I’m going to step into that fire, and get what I want.
