Summary: On planet PB&J Rodney and John have to pretend they're married. Back on Atlantis, they keep pretending at Aiden and Teyla's insistence. See where this goes.

On planet PBJ-111, the premiere Atlantis team ran into a problem of sorts. The Jelatins strongly believed that only couples are allowed to travel through the gate. Before John and Rodney could blink, Aiden grabbed Teyla and preceded to talk about their elaborate wedding that they had a few weeks ago. Rodney looked at John, and John looked at Rodney. Then they wrapped their arms around each other's waists, gave each other a kiss on the cheek and continued working out an alliance with the people. It was as they were walking back to the gate, after making an arrangement for an exchange of information as well as fruits, that Aiden spoke up. It was now or never, Lieutenant Ford chose to tell the Major and Dr. McKay the truth behind Kavanaugh's wretched behavior. It seems some of the military personnel discovered that Calvin is in fact homosexual. Kavanaugh has been harassed by them whenever Doctor McKay or Major Sheppard was not around. This could make anyone grumpy. Aiden thought that if John and Rodney were to fake a relationship on Atlantis, everyone would be forced to let go of their prejudice or risk be shipped off to planet RAW-666. John and Rodney were at first horrified by this plan. They started making excuses of how terrible they both were at acting. Eventually Teyla and Aiden were able to convince them of the benefits of no longer having Calvin being such a stick in the mud. John and Rodney started making up a story they could tell while Teyla and Aiden tried to cover their grins.
Back on Atlantis, the Stargate activated. Out stepped Sheppard's team. Dr. Weir went to greet them but noticed something odd. Major Sheppard and Dr. McKay were holding hands. John and Rodney stepped forward and said they had an announcement to make. They walked to the control center and turned on the broadcasting equipment. Rodney began, "John Sheppard and I made a wonderful discovery on planet PB & J, they accept marriages of same sex partners."
John continued, "Rodney and I got hitched!! Since this is short notice we won't be expecting wedding gifts, though if anyone would like to set up a reception for us, that would be sweet." The broadcast ended. John went up to Elizabeth Weir and asked permission for bigger quarters for Rodney and him to share.
Elizabeth's mouth dropped open and all she could do was nod. As she watched Rodney and John walk away she noticed how comfortable they looked leaning against each other. Turning to Teyla and Aiden, she raised her eyebrow, clearing showing her shock. Aiden stepped in to say that he had been John's best man, and Teyla was Rodney's maid of honor. Elizabeth began laughing hysterically and had to be helped to her office by Peter Grodin.
As Rodney and John were moving their belongings into a bigger room, everyone in Atlantis were trying to decide if this was some elaborate joke or not. A couple people had fainted, others were looking smug saying they knew about those two all along. Carson Beckett suspected some alien drugs were at work. Calvin Kavanaugh simply harrumphed and continue to make the other scientists miserable.
"Rodney, which side of the bed do you usually sleep on?" John asked, hoping it was the left side.
"I'll sleep on whichever side you don't want to sleep on, either works for me."
"Cool." John hoped this did not mean Rodney would be sleeping in the middle of the bed, pushing John off in the middle of the night. Looking around the room he realized that they were going to need to find another desk, no way were they going to be able to share such a small piece of furniture. After they finished placing their stuff, they realized they had to get going, or they would be late to the briefing. They had also managed so far to stay away from the infirmary, Beckett will give them hell for this later.
"I'm glad the newly-weds were able to make it" Dr. Weir stated slightly sarcastically, part annoyed that she had not noticed any relationship between the two men. "You two won't be asking for time off for a honey-moon will you?"
John spoke up, "If we could just have a couple days on the mainland to tell Halling and the others the good news?"
"That will be fine. Dr. Beckett called me to say you haven't been to the infirmary yet for your physicals. Is this because you two are embarrassed?" Both men looked horrified at what she was implying.
"Um, actually we haven't gotten that far in our physical relationship," Rodney said. Elizabeth muttered to herself, TMI(too much information), and let it go. The briefing continued, as they discussed what the Jelatins had to offer.
As the days passed on, the military personnel and scientists began planning a surprise reception for the couple. On movie nights John and Rodney would cuddle but other than that they showed no other physical affection for each other. During the reception where there was a small wedding cake with two male dolls on top that the Athosians provided, Aiden and Carson convinced the couple to dance. The dance was awkward at first, as neither of them had danced with another man before, but as soon as someone played rock music, they became more comfortable and everyone joined in the fun. After a few dances, some of the more suspicious people, started shouting that John and Rodney should kiss. Both men gave a deer in the headlights look, only confirming the people's suspicions that this was a joke. Maybe just an excuse for good cake. Aiden gave the two a serious look, glancing between them and Calvin who still looked dejected. John and Rodney uncomfortably pressed their bodies against each other, to make it more believable. They unconciously agreed to close their eyes and leaned in at the same time. What they both expected to be a weird kiss, turned into something unbelievably sensual and hot. They did not notice the cheering that erupted, though they did hear Carson coughing as they had not yet stopped kissing. Taking a break to breathe, they both gasped air back into their starved lungs. Looking into the eyes of their 'partner', they saw the desire reflecting there. Looking around they noticed Kavanaugh hitting on some female soldier. They both turned and saw Aiden and Teyla both grinning with wide smiles. They had been played. John and Rodney sneaked out of the room to go to their quarters. They had a late wedding night to get to.
