Summary: The challenge was to use the number 19.
It was the day after Elizabeth had watched the ashes of her former self float away. She relaxed with Rodney on the balcony near her room.
"Rodney, do you ever think of our future?" Elizabeth leaned up against the railing. Next to her Rodney paced.
"Of course I think about it. Will I be alive tomorrow? If I am, what am I going to do so I can get to the next day?" Rodney looked over at the water for a second, silently contemplating the real future, years from now.
"Pessimist. I meant a long time from now, when the war is over, and we've hopefully won." She laid her head on her arms, feeling his warmth as he walked past her.
"Now who's being the pessimist? We will win you know. But yeah, okay, I have thought about it." Rodney finally stilled, right next to Elizabeth, almost touching.
"And?" She looked up at him, so close.
"It involves you and me living together with 19 cats." Rodney grinned, and Elizabeth smiled in return. That's a future she could live with.
