Summary: How does he get into these situations?
Harry hung from the thick spider web connecting two trees. His wrists and ankles were wrapped tight. He watched in horror as Sicily, a she-devil, half human form, half spider, rifled through his bag.
“Watz haz we here?” With two black appendages she picked up a human skull covered in runes. “Iz this your friend, wizzard?” She tossed it up in the air. “See I hear you have old sorcerer with ye these days. Make he show hisself!”
Harry shouted “why?” Hundreds of little spiders slithered onto the web and covered his body, each taking bites out of him that not only hurt but made his skin itch terribly where the marks were left. “Bob, show yourself.” The spiders backed off as a green fire appeared coalescing into the form of Harry’s friend and mentor.
“How do you always get yourself into these things, Harry?”
“I try very hard, I like the adventure of it. Nothing like being eaten by a swarm of spiders to make you feel really alive.”
“No need to be snippy. Sicily, how nice to see you again.”
“Hrothbert, I should’ve known. Thee were always allying yourself with the stupid wizzards.”
“Hey!”
“Shush Harry.”
“How do you two know each other?”
“Ah, a long and boring tale about one of my masters using the sacrificial blood of her mate in a death spell.”
“Ah, shit.”
“Yes.”
“Thee will make it up to me, won’t you sorcerer.”
“It was not my doing.”
“The spell was yours!” She tossed the skull back and forth in anger as white foam filled her mouth.
“Harry, if you were planning anything…”
“I’m trying,” and he was attempting to slide one arm out of the web. He couldn’t use a fire spell uncontrolled as it would burn not only the web and probably himself, but also the trees around him. “This might be a bad idea.” He called the biggest wind he could in hopes it would break the web from the tree.
Bob could only watch as the wind storm began to break apart the web, though it continued to cling to Harry and it appeared to want to rip Harry’s limbs apart. Sicily cackled as Harry screamed, though she choked on her laugh as Harry was able to tear his arms off the webbing and fall to the ground. With a spell aimed to distract her further he grabbed his bag and the skull from her hands and ran out of the forest.
Back in his apartment, Harry sat on his old thrifty couch and wondered how his strange life became so common to him. Then he heard from his lab Bob whistling as he worked on magical theories and realized it didn’t matter.
