My Hike to a Waterfall in Pictures
Oct. 9th, 2008 10:53 pmFor my birthday I wanted to go on a hike, so finally exactly a week after my birthday, my three sisters and I drove down to Shenandoah National Park and drove on Skyline Drive and took the Whiteoak Canyon Trail to its first waterfall. The hike was 2.6 miles there and then the same back. We went across three bridges, and sometimes it was quite a decline stepping over and around rocks. I stumbled once on a loose rock. I had my trekking pole with me that my sister had given as a birthday gift. It was such a fun but exhausting hike. And the waterfall was way worth it too. At the end we even saw a mama and baby deer and a little black bear. (Though I didn't get any pictures of them.)
Let's start with the pictures I took on the way to the waterfall,

And now on to the waterfall itself.
The rock that's partially shown is what we were standing on.
