So two years ago I wrote this narrative poem about two people who grow up with powers related to time or death, all for nanowrimo. I actually got the word goal of fifty thousand and finished the story.

I put it aside for a while then tried to read it on my computer but didn't get far. Months passed and with permission I printed all 149 pages of it at work.

I set up index cards took notes on a few pages but couldn't stay motivated. But finally last month I sat my butt down determined to get that full read through done without making notes. I read the whole thing!

Now it has a lot of problems as any rough draft does. Inconsistencies, exposition issues. Badly done flashbacks. But here's the thing I'm still as in love with the story as when I wrote it. And I can almost glimpse what it'll look like in a revision.

So I am writing down my notes on those index cards as well as on the page. And I may only be a fifth of the way into it. But I see potential and that is a huge motivator.
