First necklace for my Mom
Mar. 18th, 2014 08:55 pmThis one was a bit of a challenge. I had been making jewelry just for myself for a couple months. My Mom wanted to see me put my new design skills to use for her. Some of the beads she picked out. She gave me what to work with said she wanted it long and then I went to work. It ended up that though she liked it at first she didn't like wearing it. Eventually I took it back because I found that it worked perfectly with one on my tops.

I love all these beads from the shiny to the spacers around the swirly glass ones. My Mom liked the ivory tubes.
Here it is with my top.

I love matching necklaces to beautiful blouses. And people at work notice and encourage.
I have enjoyed jewelry making as this great opportunity to relax and focus on creating something. I've found my art. Even just trying to figure out what beads to purchase is engaging. I truly love just spreading out what I have on a design board and figuring out which sequence is the best choice for what I like. Sharing my experiments with family and friends has also been very rewarding.
